Prior to MTV airing their annual live Woodies/10 for 16 show from South by Southwest in Austin, TX, they asked fans to “cosign” (endorse) the artist they think will be huge this year. Team Sawyer voted enthusiastically and Sawyer won “by a landslide," according to MTV. The announcement was made on national TV during the airing of their live show.
